How are you doing? It's been a while.

I'm going to be heading out of town for a while. I don't think I'm going to be gone long, but do you want to meet somewhere before I go? I shouldn't be leaving for another week, but I'm not sure when it'll be yet.

He watches the words and this time he can't really hide the worry at what she says. He doesn't say anything, because he can tell it's hard to talk about and he doesn't want to make her talk about it and he's not sure what to tell her anyway, but the worry is there, and he reaches out and rests his hand on her shoulder for a minute, squeezing lightly. It takes a second after her question for him to pull his hand back in order to write.

"I'm okay. Mostly getting ready to get out of town.
Should we get going?" he adds before handing it back to her.

Elizabeth sees the worry, and she smiles at him, resting a hand on his arm for a moment. There's not a whole lot she can do to reassure him. She tries to smile as reassuringly as she can as her hand rests on his arm when his own hand rests on her shoulder. And after a moment, she hugs him, tightly.

Time is limited. It's something she's always known.

She nods. "Yep, we should! I'm hungry. I'm taking you to the best pizza place that there is," Elizabeth informs him, tugging him by the arm down the sidewalk. "It is deep dish, any kind that you should want, cheese, extra cheese, peppers... if you like vegetables."

She makes a little face. Vegetables aren't her favorite. "But we'd split a small pizza like half and half, half your fave and half my fave things!"

He hugs her tightly in return, closing his eyes and giving her a light kiss on the cheek, and he only moves back a step or two in order to write, close enough to knock against her arm a little bit now and again.

Physical comfort is the only kind he can really offer. At least she's someone who'll probably appreciate it, though.

He smiles at her face, scribbling a little unsteady as they walk.
"No vegetables is good for me. How do you feel about pepperoni and sausage?"

Elizabeth smiles at him, and she does appreciate the physical comfort, sometimes more than the words themselves. She never realized how much a physical comfort could mean to her.

But it means a lot. She's happy to get the hug and kiss on her cheek, and she smiles brightly at him in turn.

She glances down. "I feel... good, very good about it," Elizabeth says. "You know my grandma cause she raised me... she used to have to put food coloring on all of my food. I would only eat it if it were all in different, vibrant colors."

There's a silent laugh, and he shakes his head a little as he starts to writing. "Maybe that's where your colorful personality came from," he poses, because terrible jokes are not just for verbal conversation, clearly.

Elizabeth laughs at his answer. She can't help it. It's a very good answer, and he doesn't think that it's a terrible joke at all.

"You know that makes lot of sense. I guess I should thank her and thank my own pour taste," she says with a smile, nudging him with her hip. "I like having a colorful personality. Thank you for saying so."

She points ahead to the pizza place. "There it is. Best in Chicago. You have my word."
